Hi!

My name is Isla and I am 24 years old. I live in the Netherlands and I am a Dermal Therapist! My mission is to improve awareness of my profession.

I founded MySkinFacts because I have a very large interest in all aspects of the skin. During my studies I discovered so many interesting and cool facts about the skin that I wanted to promote them a little bit more because the skin is a subject that is so close to everybody. The skin protects you from the outside world and reflects your overall health. If there is something wrong with you, the first symptoms will most of the time be something with your skin, for example if your face is pale then people think you are sick. That is what I find very fascinating and it makes me very curious about the other aspects and functions of the skin.

In The Netherlands there are three professions that people always confuse with each other. You have a beautican, skintherapist and a dermatologist. A beautican is someone who makes the skin more beautiful and a skintherapist and dermatologist improve the skin condition in the long term rather than short term improvements.
